Saturday match benefits from breeze blowing down at winner's end of Decoy Lake

By Pete Woodhouse

Fenland Rods fished a Saturday match on Six Island at Decoy Lakes at the weekend and it turned out to be a wise move after heavy rain for most of Sunday spoilt sport.

Match winner Dave Garner drew “hot peg” 11 and with a good breeze blowing down that end of the lake it was no surprise to see him run out a clear winner.

Dave fished meat on the running line approach and caught right from the off, netting some big carp throughout the day to romp home with 190lb 5oz. Mac Campbell on peg 24 came second catching well late in the match for 134lb 4oz, then came James Garner with 126lb 15oz and Matt Lutkin on 109lb 15oz.
