LEARN MOREBoth Fenland sides in action this afternoon suffered away defeats.
Wisbech Town were beaten 6-2 at Sporting Khalsa in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division, while Wisbech St Mary went down 3-0 at UEA in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division North.
Wisbech slipped into the relegation area after their defeat in the Midlands and are now 10 points from automatic safety with 10 games remaining, and a single point behind Histon, who occupy the relegation play-off position.
The Fenmen found themselves 3-0 down within 27 minutes in Willenhall, before pulling a goal back through Stamford loanee Rodrigo Goncalves. However, Khalsa scored again to lead 4-1 at the break.
Danny Draper got another goal for Wisbech after 52 minutes but Khalsa struck again in the 62nd and 81st minutes.
Paul Hunt's Wisbech St Mary are still winless this season after their defeat against the UEA at Dereham, conceding in the first minute of each half and the last minute of the match.
There were no games this afternoon for March Town or Parson Drove.
