Parson Drove face cup games against Eynesbury and Great Shelford either side of a blank Saturday

Parson Drove manager Arran Duke praised his players after they returned to winning ways in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North on Saturday.

Drove achieved an excellent 2-0 win at seventh-place Gorleston Reserves, with Harrison Taylor and Gerson Dos Reis on target.

Duke said: "It was a good performance against a side that started the day in the play-offs.

"Defensively, we were solid so nice to get a clean sheet as a reward. They had only lost three games previously against the top three so we knew it would be a tough fixture but It was a pleasing three points."

Drove now have a midweek cup game either side of another blank Saturday.

Tomorrow night they travel to Eynesbury in the Hinchingbrooke Cup before they entertain Great Shelford in the Cambs Invitation Cup on Tuesday week.

Duke said: "There will be a lot of changes to the side to give the lads opportunities for minutes and with us in the Cambs Cup next week I'm not too worried about no game on Saturday so we will also get a bit of rest period."
