Parson Drove have a blank Saturday after seeing its unbeaten away record ended at Stanway Pegasus
Parson Drove boss Arran Duke believes a blank weekend will do his young side the power of good.
Drove have a free weekend after seeing their unbeaten away record in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North ended by a 3=1 defeat to Stanway Pegasus on Saturday.
Duke said: "The blank week this week has come at a good time. We've had a big run of games since the end of July so we will use the break to train midweek and on Saturday.
"Those that have had limited minutes will go out and get some elsewhere so we should be fit and sharp for Holland the following week
Parson Drove had won all four of their away games going into Saturday's league game in Essex.
But that record was ended despite Byron Adiado equalising an early goal for the host outfit who regained their lead before the interval and extended it further ten minutes from the end.
"I felt we again competed well Saturday and were punished for a few errors in play but performance-wise I was still pleased with what we are trying to do," said Duke.
"A very tough one today against a high-flying Stanway, scoring goals for fun, but we have every faith in this young group."
