Parson Drove record back-to-back wins for the first time in almost two years

Parson Drove left it late for the second successive week as they toppled league leaders Framlingham.

A week after scoring three goals in the final 15 minutes to win 5-4 at Cornard, Arran Duke's side were at it again as The Castlemen were toppled at the death.

It is the first time that Drove has recorded back-to-back wins in the league since October 2021.

Brad Easey scored a dramatic winner on the break as Drove broke from a Framlingham corner after Evander Jose had cancelled out Archie Exworth's opener for the visitors.

"We were on the wrong end of late defeats against both Whittlesey and Wivenhoe, so we'll take that every day of the week, said Duke.

"It's nice to be on the opposite end and there's a much more positive feel around the club at the moment after beating Cornard, who were unbeaten until we played them, and the league leaders.

"We're still only eight games into the new season with a new group of players, but you can see the improvement.

"It was a solid defensive effort that kept us to where we needed to be, although we created our fair share of chances too.

"The back three of Dean (Miller), David (Weaver-Pope) and Callum Brown were excellent for us."

Duke is expected to rest a number of players for the club's home Knockout Cup tie against Holbeach tomorrow night before the league trip to Haverhill Borough on Saturday.

Nick Castellan and Alex Vincent are both expected to be in contention to play at the weekend after missing the visit of the Castlemen.
