Elseworth beat Wizards to maintain 100% Wisbech Table Tennis League record




The latest Wisbech Table Tennis League Premier Division fixtures saw Elseworth continue their 100% win rate by beating Wizards.

Man of the match Louis Roper-Gibbs scored a fine maximum, along with Dan Fielding, but Shaun Murray met some considerable resistance in Brett Heppenstall andAlan Ashberry.

Eagles and Exiles played out a long, competitive match.

For Eagles, Paul Rich put in a star performance with the night’s only maximum.

Rob Rix and Richard Mussett scored wins over Steve Barber to complete the narrowest of victories.

For Exiles, Don Dixon and Steve Barrett both scored two, but a special mention went to the returning Steve Barber who, after a very long break, acquitted himself admirably.

Elsewhere, with Trojans playing their strongest lineup, Nets &Edges were up against it from the off. The resulting scoreline of 10-0 to Trojans disguised some very close ends, but nobody could trouble man of the match Wayne Mason. Steve Mason and David Lemmon also took maximums.

For Nets & Edges Steve Goodale, Thomas Archer and Adrian Alvarez-Domingo all took ends.

In the First Division, Wanderers took on Ramblers - with a man of the match maximum from Steve Kent and another from David Nicholas seeing the former through to win 7-3.

The evergreen George Norman also chipped in with a win over Mike Moore. Ramblers fought back with wins from Carol Parker and Tim Hines, who also combined for a doubles win.

Another tough call for 5 Stars B sw Spartans take no prisoners in securing a 10-0 win, conceding no ends in the process. Man of the match Gordon Lyttle, Andy Bayes and David Hughes all took maximums.

Jake Trundle & Callum Burton fought hard to win ends to no avail.

A fine team performance from Warlords saw them win 7-3 over Batmen.

Top-of-the-table Stingers carried on with their impressive run of wins, beating 5 Stars A 9-1.

Man of the match Igors Scekalevs and Chris Gay both scored maximums, whilst Paul Reed chipped in too.
