Fenland driver deliver some consistent performances in the BriSCA F1 stock cars
Dave Polley had a great weekend in the BriSCA F1 stock cars at Lynn after picking up victory in the Grand National and picking up other consistent results.
Polley came close to taking the chequered flag in his heat on Saturday as he enjoyed a mid-race battle with Dutch Points Champion Wybe de Vries with Wybe pulling away towards the end of the race to win by a few car lengths with Polley finishing second.
Bradley Blyth also qualified for the final in this race with a fifth-place finish.
Saturday’s final was won by Leicester’s Paul Hines with no Fenland drivers making the top ten before David bounced back with a dominating drive in the Grand National to take the flag.
Polley and Blyth both also qualified for Sunday’s final with the former achieving a third place in his heat and Blythan eighth place.
Again none finished the final in the all-important ten which was won by Dutch star Jelle Tessellar and disaster also struck for Blyth in the Dash for Cash when he was sent up the fence and rolled over on the first lap.
Tommy Parrin qualified for the European Championship in the 2L stock cars with some good results on Saturday night.
He looked like a good bet to win the Dash for the Cash on Sunday when he had a decent-looking advantage only to fall foul from an attack from a backmarker.
He still got the award for the best yellow though.
Racing returns to Lynn on Saturday for the annual Pre 80 banger meeting with racing also coming from the junior bangers with a Pre 95 meeting.
Fenland drivers who will be in action in the Pre-80 will include Jack Maryon, James Cable and James Licquorice whilst the Pre-95 junior banger entry includes Levi Murkin, Riley Crowson, Lincoln Douglas and Tommy Cunningham.
