Fenland drivers ready to battle it out for World and European glory at King’s Lynn circuit
The Adrian Flux Arena stages the biggest stock car weekend of the season with racing taking place on both Saturday (4pm) and Sunday (noon).
Both events feature the BriSCA F1 stock cars and 2L saloon stock cars with the Saturday meeting featuring the second World Championship semi-final with the saloons qualifying for grid positions for the European Championship.
The saloons take centre stage on Sunday with the European Championship, Steve Newman Memorial and a Dash for Cash whilst the F1 stock cars will be racing for the Ben Turner Memorial and a Dash for Cash.
Two Fenland drivers in action in the F1 stock cars come in the shape of Dave Polley and Bradley Blyth.
Polley did qualify for the first semi-final which took place on the tarmac track of Hednesford a fortnight ago.
But with him only racing shale in 2024 and with the World Final this year also being on tarmac he withdrew from that race.
Both drivers are very competitive around Lynn and will be confident of some great results.
A drop to the yellow grade for Tommy Parrin will give him a boost as he aims to win the European Championship for the 2L stock cars.
This means that Parring will start further towards the front of the pack.
He has proved himself to be more than competitive from the blue grade around Lynn so starting with the yellows will give him a great chance of bagging a top spot in the European.
There was racing last weekend for the 1300 stock cars, 1600 bangers, junior bangers and lady bangers at Lynn.
James Licquorice had another great night in the 1600 bangers, extending his lead at the head of the Entertainer League, picking up an entertainer award and a merit award.
Joel Allan finished in fifth place despite rolling his car towards the finish and followed it up with a third and eighth-place finish in his heats,
Brad Bartram also scored well with a fourth and third-place finish in his heats whilst Josh Gilbert had possibly his best meeting at Lynn leading the first race for a large portion of the race before being heavily involved in the action later in the evening.
Lee Green finished second in both of his heats in the 1300 stock cars while John Moat was the best Fenland finisher in the final in sixth place.
It was a good night for local drivers with Barty Ketteringham, Shane and Dean Moat all picking up decent places.
Lincoln Douglas continued his recent good form in the junior bangers winning the final ahead of fellow Wisbech driver Levi Murkin.
All of the races in the juniors were won by local drivers with Keyan Murkin-Everett taking his first-ever win in the opener before Jad Ellis won the second.
Kiean Mays enjoyed his best meeting in the juniors as he gets quicker on every outing whilst Riley Crowson and Nick Bedford were also in the places throughout the night.
