Fenland drivers are recognised at annual Trackstar awards evening




The annual Trackstar Awards night took place and several Fenland drivers went home with some silverware following a fantastic 2023 season.

James Licquorice enjoyed another great season in the National Bangers which saw him finish in third place in the Entertainer Points.

The look of pure delight on Licquorice’s face was a joy to behold when he scooped the biggest award of the night – the Drivers’ Driver of the Year award.

Only drivers are allowed to vote for the special voted awards and you could see how much it meant to Licquorice and his team after being recognised by his fellow drivers.

Other drivers to pick up awards were Brad Bartram, who finished in a career-high of runner-up in the National Points and fifth in the Entertainer Points following another outstanding all-round season for the young gun.

Jack Maryon picked up a Merit Award in recognition of some good displays.

In the Junior Bangers, Archie Horwood, 11, was voted Newcomer of the Year in the formula.

An impressive debut season by Horwood also saw him win the White & Yellow Points.

Lincoln Douglas has been fantastic in the Junior Bangers and was fourth in the National Points whilst Riley Crowson and Keyan Murkin Everett both picked up merit awards.

Dean Moat picked up his award for coming joint third in the National Points in the 1300 Stock Cars with Barty Ketteringham winning the White and Yellow Points.

There were also Merit Awards for Sonny Wright, Lee Green and John Moat following some strong showings.
