British Superbike chance for Fenland teenager
Thomas Clarkson Academy student Harry Cook has put pen-to-paper on a deal with MV Agusta in the British
Superbike Championship.
At just 16 years of age, Fenland race ace Cook will be the youngest rookie in the British Supersport Class to ride an MV Agusta F3 800 RR.
The teenager enjoyed a strong finish to the opening round at Silverstone.
Cook was placed fourth and fifth in both races to leave him sitting fifth overall in the Championship standings after the first round.
Speaking after Silverstone, Cook said: “The bike is great but I haven’t had much time on the bike in pre-season.
“The only bike time I’ve had is in the wet so Silverstone was my first real go at some dry track time and we did pretty good.
“The next round for us is Donington Park and hopefully we will be up to speed by then and achieve another good result.”
The youngster took time to thank his sponsors and partners.
Title sponsor Force One Ltd (March) has been supporting the youngster since he entered the British Championship three years ago.
Last season, Cook attended a No Limits Race at Silverstone in the Modern 400 championship, picking up three wins before the British Championship started.
