Fenland Running Club bag double prize haul

Eleven Fenland Running Club members raced in the Nene Valley Harriers’ Barney Memorial 5K at Ferry Meadows on Wednesday which incorporates the prizegiving for the Peterborough Grand Prix Series.

In a field of 221, Martin Jennings continued his return to form after injury with an impressive 18.32 run and was the only FRC runner to break the 20-minute barrier.

In the prize giving ceremony for the GP Series of five 5K races, Paul Griffin took 1st place in the MV50 category and Irlam was 1st in the LV50 category.

On Saturday, Dan Carrington took on the enormous challenge of the Peris Horseshoe Fell Race which is a classic Snowdonia race, starting and finishing in Llanberis and covering 17.5 miles, with ascents totalling 2,600 metres. Dan finished 46th in 6:54:24.
