Fenland Running Club members tackle Frostbite League opener
Fenland Running Club members were out and about and all dressed up at a not-too-cold Frostbite League.
The first of the season's Frostbite races took place at St Neots.
After the rain throughout the week, it was anticipated that the course would prove a tricky muddy affair, given that it is all off-road, with a mixture of grass and tracks through some wooded areas.
The course has been extended a little from last year and the three times up the hill proved a challenge.
Fenland was represented by 13 of its members and its first runner home was Dan Tickner in 21st place from a field of 349, with an impressive time of 32:45.
As a team, Fenland Running Club are tenth out of 16.
Other places and times: Richard Agger 80th, 37:56; Tom Richards 95th, 38:41; Andrew Baldwin 109th, 39:08; Carol Bowett 143rd, 41:26; Nicky Jennings 167th, 42:44; Stuart Cheslett 169th, 42:47; Jac Richards 238th, 47:30; Ade Mills 239th, 47:32; Maire Kay 272nd, 50:24; Ian King 29th, 52:40; Carly Reed 333rd,1:02:18; Gilly Anderson 334th, 1:02:19.
At the Bidwells Cambridge 10km Town and Gown, FRC was represented by Sean Banks, who set an impressive time of 37:47 and placed in the top 100 out of a field of 2409 competitors.
This course starts in the heart of Cambridge and takes in many of its well-known sights as well as following the course of the River Cam.
