Fenland Running Club members shine in latest Frostbite League race at March
Twenty-eight frost-hungry Fenland Running Club members took part in the third Frostbite Friendly League race of the season, in March on Sunday.
The Frostbite Friendly League is a series of six “closed” running races for senior and junior runners from 16 road-running clubs based mainly around the Peterborough/ Cambridgeshire area.
The races are staged at four to five-week intervals on a Sunday morning during the winter months from October to March (hence Frostbite) and was formed in 1988.
The race saw 362 runners in total brave the elements. They steered through slippery sludge and manoeuvred miraculously through the mud under a beautiful clear crisp winter sky, to complete the five- mile race.
Ben Jimson was the first male home for Fenland Running Club in 16th place overall with an impressive time of 31:55.
Graham Milham was the second male home, 50th overall, with a great time of 35:44 and the third male home was Stuart Follen,, 95th overall, with a fabulous time of 38:06.
Carol Bowett, 134th overall, was the first female home with a stunning time of 39:57 followed by Harris Ritchie, 155th overall, in 41:43 and Hayley Messin, 203rd overall, who clocked 44:25.

The next Frostbite event take place at Hinchingbrooke Country Park on January 14.
