James Licquorice and Brad Bartrum impress at stock car racing in King’s Lynn
James Licquorice set the tone in the opening 2L Banger heat when he took a fantastic race win.
Following this, he went on to amass plenty more entertainer points during a crowd-pleasing performance which saw him pick up an entertainer award in both his second heat and the final.
Meanwhile, Brad Bartram was the best local finisher with eighth place in the final, which was won by Birmingham’s Luke Rawlings – whilst Max Stott picked up a couple of sixth-place finishes in his heats.
The 1500cc Bangers saw F1 Stock Car driver Callum Gill go back to his roots as a late entrant. Gill is unfortunately sidelined from the F1 Stock Cars with engine damage and he will be waiting another six weeks before parts he needs arrive from the USA.
It did not take him long to get back into the swing of things with a fifth-place finish in his first heat before he then went on to win an entertainer award of his own.
Gill’s father Russell was also in action, and he finished just in front of his son in the opening heat.
The best drive of the day came from Joel Allen in the meeting final as he took a convincing win.
Bartram was in great form in the 1500s, taking two entertainer awards – and a quality follow-in from Lennie Murkin also saw him pick one up.
Olly Betts had his best ever meeting in the Reliant Robins. It started with a second-place finish to Kettering’s Mark Curtis in the opening heat before he then bagged two entertainer awards with a fantastic display which culminated in a massive home straight rollover.
Edward Pindar – in only his second meeting – also won an entertainer award.
