Ely the destination for Fenland Running Club members
The season of racing shorter distances is approaching its end as we head into the autumn and prepare for the longer races as well as the Frost Bite races on those, not so favourable cold Sundays.
Several Fenland Running Club members continue to seek out those races still being run and completing a series of races that put to the test all the hard work undertaken in training.
Amongst those FRC runners out and about were Tom and Jac Richards, and Paul Wiegard who competed in the Eye handicap 5km.
Whilst the temperature was favourable it was the only element that was, with heavy rain and grass making the first and last half miles of the course challenging to say the least, leg strength was certainly tested.
The times were: Tom Richards 21.19, Paul Wiegard 24.30, Jac Richards 26.06.
Elsewhere, Malcolm Tuff and Martin Jennings ran in race 13 of 14 in the Norfolk Sportlink road championship Series held at Dereham.
The course was a two-lap one that was fast and flat taking in the town centre.
Both runners had excellent runs achieving both fast times and impressive positions both overall and within their respective age categories.
With one race remaining Tuff remains in pole position to win his age category outright after clocking 18:23.
Jennings was second in his age category with a time of 17:35.
