LEARN MOREWisbech Town have today advertised the first team manager's position after interim boss Chris Lenton stepped down.
Lenton took temporary control after Brett Whaley left for Spalding United just before Christmas, but has quit the club after guiding them to a 3-0 home win over Soham and seeing them lose by the same scoreline at Yaxley.
First team coach Arran Duke will take over the role of interim manager, assisted by former Leyton Orient, Notts County and King's Lynn defender Mark Warren.
Both were previously part of March Town United’s set up under Whaley and took over from him in February 2020 after he left to join Wisbech. Prior to that they ran Wisbech St Mary’s first team.
Their first game will be a home clash against Northern Premier League Midland Division title contenders Halesowen Town on Saturday.
Lenton was with Wisbech for 23 months as Whaley’s assistant. The club thanked him for his time with the Fenmen and wish him well for the future.
Applications for the manager's job should be sent, with a footballing CV and a covering letter, to secretary@wisbechtownfc.co.uk
Experience of managing a club at Step 4 or higher would be advantageous but not essential.
