Wins for March and Wisbech but Parson Drove defeated
March Town and Wisbech Town were both victorious this afternoon, but Parson Drove were beaten at home.
In the Uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division South, March are fourth after an impressive 6-2 win at bottom of the table Rothwell Corinthians.
After conceding first, March raced into a 4-1 half time lead with goals from Jack Saunders, a double from Jack Friend and one from his strike partner Craig Gillies.
Corinthians pulled one back after the break but Josh Burrows and a second from man of the match Gillies wrapped up the points.
In the Uhlsport United Counties League Cup, Wisbech Town beat Birstall United Social 3-1 at home (match report here).
Kyle Onyon gave the Fenmen a 21st minute lead, and Mo Janneh's 44th minute strike made it 2-0 at the break. Onyon's second made it 3-0 in the 51st minute, but United pulled one back through a deflected Sam Richards effort 11 minutes later. Read manager Leon Mettam's reaction here.
