Wisbech Town sign three new players
Wisbech Town FC manager Seb Hayes has today (Tuesday) made a triple signing, including the target man he craves, plus a centre-half.
The Fenmen boss has been desperate to land a centre-forward but so far has been frustrated due to their rarity and the asking prices these sorts of players command.
In at the Fenland Stadium are centre-forward Charley Sanders from near-neighbours Yaxley, who returns to the club, Ilkeston Town winger Conor Green and centre-half Michael Adeyemi.
Hayes has now completed his transfer shopping list for the time being and says the next step is to get out of the BetVictor NPL South East Division bottom six.
All three players should go straight into Saturday’s home game with Cleethorpes.
Hayes said: “Charley is the target man I’ve been looking for, just what we need. Michael has been at Step 2 and 3 and was at Step 5 because he couldn’t get a club when he was injured. Luckily for us we came on to the radar. He signed for us last night (Monday) and agreed everything this morning.”
He added: “This is where we want to be. We’ve got to start getting results on the pitch. We’ve got people like Ollie Gale to come back from injury. I’m very confident we can get more consistency and move up the table. We’re not in a position to sign anyone else unless someone leaves.”
