Wisbech Town boss Seb Hayes: time for a BetVictor NPL league win at home to Lincoln United after FA Cup exit

Two Fenland sides, one home and one away, exited the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday to higher-ranked opposition.

Hosts Wisbech Town lost 2-1 to Hitchin Town while March Town lost 3-1 at Grays Athletic in the First Qualifying Round.

Fenmen manager Seb Hayes said it's time to look forward and concentrate on opening their winning account in the BetVictor NPL, starting at home to Lincoln United on Tuesday (Sep 10) night: "The FA Cup is all about; we're not going to win the competition.

"Tuesday night is a massive game.

"I'm still disappointed we haven't got a positive result at home. We've got to do more."

Wisbech need a target man, as Hayes added: "We've got Joel Earps up front (in the FA Cup tie) – a midfielder.

"I've spoken to players who have left clubs recently. The figures they're quoting we can't match.

"We need a target man, no doubt about it, but we need to be patient."

On his recovering players, Hayes said: "Hopefully we'll get Aiden Bradshaw back. He's definitely in for Saturday and possibly he'll get some minutes on Tuesday.

"Beckham Keneally we'll look to get some minutes and I hope to use my connections with King's Lynn Town Reserves at Step 6."

The Fenmen's August Player of the Month (sponsored by Bowland Brewery) is skipper Sam Spencer.

Wisbech are away at Frickley Athletic on Saturday (Sep 14).
