Wisbech Swimming Club take first place at Anglian League round two in Whittlesey

Wisbech Swimming Club took 17 swimmers to Whittlesey for the second round of the Anglian League.

Swimmers took part in age categories ranging from U13s to open. This event was swum against local teams in a pool that was familiar to them.

The second round of the league was one that all the teams were desperate to win in order to place them in a stronger position in the standings. Plenty swam well, with strong performances from individuals across the board.

The Wisbech swimmers wre in excellent form, with 19 personal best times being achieved from the 30 races. All taking part were pleased with those numbers.

First place finishes were achieved by Millie Harris (3), Aiste Virzintaite (3), Ebony Smith (2), Abi Condon (2), Oliver Smithee and Austeja Virzintaite - although points from every swimmer counted towards the final total of 98 points which was enough to see Wisbech finish in first place. This puts the team in a strong position moving forwards for the third round.

PBs were achieved by Josh Jones (3), Aiste Virzintaite (2), George Warby (2), Oliver Smithee (2), Abi Condon (2), Millie Harris, Jake Trundle, Alex Wilson, Kevin Sorokin, Ebony Smith, Austeja Virzintaite, Ollie Ryan and Grace Rayner.
