Five for Bancans as March Town Reserves hit 10 past Hundon
March Town Reserves stretched their lead at the top of Senior A with a 10-1 home thrashing of bottom side Hundon.
Connor Bancans was the star of the show with five goals to take him to 17 for the season. Adam Mills netted twice and there were also goals from Joshua Bryant and subs Liam Brady and Matteo Cavozzi.
In the same division, Wimblington enjoyed a good 4-3 home win over Isleham United, with Billy Munns and sub Jay Rout among the scorers, as well as two own goals.
Goals from Boston Cash and Chris Gunkel saw Wisbech St Mary achieve a great away win at the weekend, 2-1 at Cambridge University Press.
Saints scored goals early in both halves in this Cambs County League Premier Division fixture, with Press netting deep into second-half added-on time.
Outwell Swifts stay top of 1B after a 7-1 victory at bottom side Witchford 96 Reserves. Adan-Jay Lewis and Callum Moles each scored twice and Richard Mills and subs Jack Brand and Ben Longmuir were also on target.
There was also a big win for March Town A, 4-0 at home to Great Paxton, with James Monaghan scoring twice and Konrad Bednarz and sub Carlos Mendes also on target. Chatteris Town Reserves lost 2-0 at Stretham and Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) were thrashed 6-1 at Exning United, Dillon Stevens scoring.
Wisbech St Mary Reserves beat Houghton & Wyton 4-2 and Manea United won by the same scoreline at Papworth.
It’s still tight at the top of 4C, with AEK United of Guyhirn staying a point clear with a 2-0 home win over Chatteris Town A, while second-place Wisbech St Mary B beat Needingworth United Reserves 6-0, Adam Key getting a hat-trick, Ethan Goodale a brace and one from sub Michael Chow.
Third and with games in hand is March Academy who won 3-0 at Huntingdon United Reserves, Jack Conyard, Oliver Semys and Daniel Williams scoring.
Outwell Swifts Reserves got only their second win of the season, 4-1 over Stretham Reserves, with the goals coming from Daniel Cook, Nathan Garner and two from sub Alex Hensby.
Leverington Sports lost in the semi-final of the Peterborough Senior Cup, beaten 3-2 on penalties at Crowland Town after a 1-1 draw. Kieran Hamilton netted for Sport in normal time only for Crowland to level in the dying minutes.
In the Peterborough League Premier Division, Chatteris Town lost 4-2 at home to Oakham United, Sam Bond getting both their goals to make it eight for him this season.
Wisbech Town Reserves went down 5-0 at Park Farm Pumas in Division One and Long Sutton Athletic are bottom of the table despite an encouraging 3-3 home draw with Hampton United, Jack Baker, Jordan Nyang and Jamie Taylor netting.
In Division Two, Sutton Bridge United won 2-1 at home to Hampton United Reserves, with Mark Garner’s brace taking him to 11 for the season. Tydd were also victorious, winning 1-0 at Thorney, Nayden Kychev getting their goal after 35 minutes.
Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were beaten 1-0 at Moulton Harrox Reserves in Division Three and Leverington Sports A lost 6-1 at Wittering, Nedas Surkys scoring.
Marshland Saints thrashed Briston 7-1 in Division Three North of the Anglian Combination, Kieran Bruce getting a hat-trick, Bradley Foxwell getting a brace and Jack Cropley and sub Connor Harper also netting.
