March Squash Club hosted the fifth annual Robert Lefevre handicap tournament on Saturday.

The tournament had a fantastic turnout and first team captain and previous club champion, Matt Fiveash, won the contest for the first time, winning all of his group stage matches despite having a handicap of -18.

For the first time ever there were four completely new members through to the semi-finals.

Fiveash beat Gary White, who was on a handicap of +1, 2-0 with both games ending up at 15-14. The second semi-final saw Dean Purse (second team sponsor) against Andy Moye, who had only been playing for around 10 months and who snatched victory.

The final was an epic occasion with Fiveash taking both games 15-14, 15-14.

The club championships will be held in due course with Fiveash bidding to be the first player to win both tournaments in the same year.

A special mention to tournament sponsor, Ed Lefevre, pictured with Fiveash.
