Toby Allen goal means ten-man March Town FC defeat Fakenham Town in Thurlow Nunn League
Toby Allen's solitary goal means March Town FC made it two wins out of two Thurlow Nunn League First Division North matches last night (Tuesday) at home to much-fancied Fakenham Town.
Allen made a neat far post finish after breaking clear of the Ghosts' defence down the left, so the Hares are second on goal difference to Mulbarton Wanderers.
Substitute Casey Logan was sent off for two bookable offences.
Manager Brett Whaley said: "Two very different performances to start the season, but both really positive.
"Last night we weren’t at our best but dug in and scrapped a 1-0 win against a good side, something we didn’t do enough last season. Break from the league now to enjoy being back in the FA Cup."
March: Charlie Congreve; Drew Barker, Scott Callaghan, Max Mattless, Jamie Short; Toby Allen, Adam Rothery, Jack Rawson, Tarren Moxon; Jack Friend, Craig Gillies. Subs: L Gibson, C Logan, C Mazurek, M Hamza, F Tsagium.
Man of the Match: Scott Callaghan.
On Saturday (Aug 10) the Hares welcome Norwich United in the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
Both teams are joint top of their respective leagues.
