On Saturday Tydd St Giles golf club put on their 2016 Spring Open event with a record turnout of 123 golfers from around the region taking part in an individual Stableford competition.

Although the conditions were good, many golfers failed to play to their handicap except the winner, Tydd player Mark Gedge coming in with 41 points.

Results: Winner overall Mark Gedge 41 points, 2 ocb Luke Rowell 39, 3 Tim Hipkin 39, 4 Kevin Goude 37. Division 1: ocb Andy Morris 35 points, 2 James Horscroft 35, 3 ocb Phil Tilney 33, 4 Ady Rowell 33. Division 2: winner Mick Tiller 36 points, 2 ocb Brendon Docking 35, 3 ocb Isaac Chaplain-Barton 35, 4 Mark Bowen 35. Longest Drive 13th Hole Kevin Goude.
