Chatteris fighter Gill forced to accept technical draw after suffering head wound

Jordan Gill's fight against Argentinian journeyman Alan Luques Castillo ended as a technical draw on Saturday evening after an accidental clash of heads left 'The Thrill' with blood pouring from a wound.

The Chatteris featherweight was taken into his corner at the end of the third round, with blood visibly flowing from a nasty gash, which was desperately worked on in a bid to resume the fight.

However, the referee was left with no option but to bring a halt to the contest, at the M&S Arena in Liverpool, with the cut continuing to require medical attention.

Gill was forced to accept a technical draw.

He had been scheduled for a European title clash against Karim Guerfi at the same venue, but his opponent pulled out last week due to illness. That fight should now take place early in the new year.
