LEARN MOREChatteris featherweight boxer Jordan Gill has been elevated to number five in the World Boxing Association rankings.
‘The Thrill’ (26), who has won 26 of his 27 professional bouts, has shot up the standings after beating Cesar Juarez at Wembley Arena last month to reclaim the vacant WBA International featherweight title.
He told the Citizen: “Being placed in the top five by one of the main and most respected sanctioning bodies means that I can get called for a world title shot at any time.
“It also opens up the possibility of a final eliminator with another fighter in the top five with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger.”
