Jordan Gill will battle Argentine Alan Isaias Luques Castillo in an eight-round boxing bout this Saturday

Jordan Gill will battle in an eight-round bout this Saturday after his cancelled title fight was replaced.

The Chatteris boxer was scheduled for a European title clash against Karim Guerfi in Liverpool, but his opponent pulled out last week due to illness.

Gill will now face off against Argentinian Alan Isaias Luques Castillo in a shortened match at the M&S Arena.

Castillo is ranked the third-best fighter in his home country and has won 27 of his 38 professional fights, being stopped just twice.

Speaking at a press conference today, Gill said: "I was absolutely gutted when Guerfi pulled out. I thought that this was the weekend that I was going to win my European title and push on, but this is boxing and these things happen.

"When I first heard I was miserable and horrible to be around for about an hour as I was so upset.

"I am looking forward to getting the win and looking good and putting on a show for the fans who have travelled four hours from the Fens."
