Lucy left her career in the City to settle with her young family in Emneth, and developed Grange Farm Swim School, offering swimming classes, Aqua fit, private hire and recreational swimming for everyone from babies to pensioners.

Lucy has enjoyed swimming with Wisbech Swimming Club for the last 15 years, including Saturday night racing for the team.

Lucy said: “After medalling at last year’s World Masters Championships in Budapest, I’ve kept up my training programme set by international coach Glenn Christiansen, and combined it with my teaching. I’m thrilled that the hard work has paid off and I’ve kept on improving my race times.”

Next step is to travel to Slovenia in September for the European Championships.

She added: "It would be incredible to be able to medal there, too."
