Goodley earns a point for Long Sutton

From a Sutton long corner, Harrison found Josh Fyson at the top of the D, who delivered in typical fashion with a casual reverse stick finish.
Sutton won a short corner soon after the first goal, which was duly dispatched again by man of the match Fyson. The well drilled home side pulled it back at half-time 2-2.
The first goal of the second half was always going to be key. It came early, but not in the way Sutton would have hoped. This was quickly followed by a second for the hosts. Once again though the University side came back and scored twice following short corners.

On a quick bouncy playing surface Long Sutton rallied at half-time with Smith senior’s low driven shot deflected into the roof of the Cambridge by M Goodley to level.

On a wet and windy day, Long Sutton welcomed another youngster into the side, Harry Bragginton, who started his adult career with an accomplished performance.
Spalding soon scored two quick goals. Sutton had their chances to get back into the game through some good wide play from Taylor and Saponenko, ending up with Portass firing just wide.
Sutton started the second half better, but were reduced to 10 men and then Spalding scored two more goals.
