Fenland Gymnastics Academy have been competing in county championships across Cambridgeshire

Fenland Gymnastics Academy have been competing at county level competitions across Cambridgeshire.

Their gymnasts managed to scoop up 50 medals, crown four county champions and had four gymnasts qualify through to the East Regional Finals.

At Zinc level, Bethan Ibbotson was crowned county champion with Shayla Fensom-Elston in second in the 9/10 age group. Megan Lee performed beautifully to win the 11+ age group. All three gymnasts go through to the Regional Finals in November.

At Bronze level, Harriet Clark was crowned county champion in the 11/12 age group. She qualified for the Regional Finals and finished a fantastic 11th .

At Silver level, Shanae Sigorney was crowned County Champion with Lucy Dear in second in the 12/13 age group. Leona Ryan performed well to place 2nd in the 14+ category.

Head Coach Claire Port said: “We are so proud of all of our gymnasts for their commitment and dedication to their gymnastics over the past 18 months, they faced weeks of training via zoom whilst in lockdown and have worked so hard to perfect their routines since being back in the gym. These results are testament to their hard work and also the continued dedication of their coaches and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for the club in 2022”.
