March gain a point on the road

The Hares secured a handy point against the Jockeys on Tuesday night.
March took the lead after 17 minutes when Brody Warren had too much pace for Newmarket’s James Chivers down the left wing, beating him twice, before drilling in a cross towards the near post, where Craig Gillies was waiting to apply the finishing touch.
March’s other opportunities of note both went the way of Jack Friend, who after showing the home side’s defence a clean pair of heels, shot straight at Alex Archer in the 26th minute.
Six minutes later the same player struck his left footed effort from the edge of the area with plenty of power, but it was always curling away from the target.
On the hour, March felt they should have had a penalty for a foul on Friend that left him nursing an arm injury that ultimately ended his involvement in the game – but not before he had been sin binned for dissent.
Newmarket equalised in the 81st minute when Ben Landshoff jinked his way into the area and then unleashed a shot that left Charlie Congreve no chance.
