March prepare for a Boxing Day trip to Yaxley while Wisbech travel to Deeping Rangers
March Town and Wisbech Town go into their Boxing Day fixtures with good momentum after wins for both sides in the last week.
The Hares travel to Yaxley in the United Counties League Premier Division South (3pm) while the Fenmen are also on the road with a trip to Deeping Rangers (1pm), who are now managed by former Wisbech boss Brett Whaley.
March's trip to the 13th-placed Cuckoos will see assistant boss Simon Roberts reunited with his old club while Wisbech's relegation clash with Rangers will see Luke Hipwell come up against his former club.
March slipped to the fifth place final play-off position after not playing on Saturday.
But the Hares recorded an excellent win in midweek when they knocked out higher-league Cambridge City 9-8 on penalties in the Cambs Invitation Cup.
March made several changes for the cup clash but again showed their strength in depth as they came from behind to win.
"Denny (Escorcio) has been very patient while Biggsy has been on the bench a lot lately but never moans," said manager Ash Taylor, who gave his players a day off training at the weekend.
"Luis (Cowie) has been getting some game time with Lakenheath and looked sharper coming back into the side.
"It's about believing in the players who we have in the group. In essence, that's what you want and it's a good headache to have.
"We left Jack Withers and Taity out of the side because we had others to come in. Jay (Whyatt) was back and just fits straight into the team.
"Having Harry (Edwards) and Jay back from America is a good problem and we'll utilise them as much as we can as they are great players and it just shows our squad depth.
"They will both be here when we next play in the FA Vase so we could possibly use them for that as well."
After their visit to Yaxley, March will then entertain 12th-place Lutterworth Town on Saturday, January 4.
Meanwhile, Fenmen boss Hipwell hopes Wisbech fans will turn out in good numbers for the visit to his old club - but says the game isn't about him returning to his old stomping ground.
The Fenmen go into the game buoyed by a 1-0 home win over Newark &Sherwood United on Saturday.
Hipwell said: "Firstly, I'd like to say thanks for all the support so far.
"They've been brilliant since I've been here and I tell you what, being here is the best feeling when we win games of football.
"I'd like to think we'll take at least 100 to Deeping on Boxing Day.
"Yes it's against my former club but I think Brett's a really good manager and I've got friends there and stuff.
"I don't want to make this game about me going back there, I want to make this game about it's another tough game against a good side who has good a result today.
"They probably should have beaten Skegness and it's going to be difficult.
“We've got to be at it and I've said to the lads that they need to make sure they look after themselves.
"We'll train on Monday and then be ready to rock and roll on Boxing Day.
“I hope we can get as many there in full voice to cheer the lads on because make a difference."
There is no game for Wisbech this Saturday, before a crucial trip to bottom-side Kimberley Miners Welfare on January 4.
