March Town manager Ash Taylor is viewing a run of four consecutive away fixtures as a chance to measure how his side are progressing this season.

After a 3-2 home win against Thetford Town this afternoon, Taylor views games at Walsham le Willows, Whitton United, Hadleigh United and Kirkley & Pakefield as an opportunity to finally get a win on the road.

Taylor told the Fenland Citizen: "I'm looking forward to four Saturdays on the road because if you look at the games we have played since I've been boss we have won six, lost six and drawn two, but out of those games, five of those defeats have been against top five teams.

"It will now be good to see where we are at when we go away to a mid-table team and see how we can deal with that against teams around us in the table. It will be a really important period between now and Christmas.

"The job this season is to stay in the division which I am very confident we can do. We have shown what we are about and played some really good football and I do think we are progressing as a team and getting stronger - if we can finish mid-table or above,I will be very happy."

On the Thetford game, Taylor said: "We started really well for the first 20 minutes, got the goal and had chances to get the second and kill the game, but we didn't take them and they had a few chances to get back into the game.

"But what I was really happy with was how we dealt with their pressure. They play good football and have good attacking players but we dealt with that well.

"In the second half we were on fire at the start, we got the two goals and won the game. Perhaps a few lapses of concentration near the end let them score, but it's the three points that matter.

"We've only lost one game at home since I've been in charge,we feel strong at home, we've got good support and we always want to send the fans home happy. When you are here it is such a good feeling, the lads so enjoy playing here and the support has helped us get results."
