March Town boss ready to use youngsters against Yaxley and Coggeshall this week
Ash Taylor is ready to give the March Town youngsters a chance to shine in the club's two home games this week.
Taylor was bitterly disappointed with his side's display during the 2-2 home draw against Northampton Sileby Rangers at the weekend.
The Hares host Yaxley in the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday night before welcoming GNG Oadby Town to the GER in the UCL Premier Division South on Saturday and Taylor is ready to ring the changes.
Reflecting on the point, Taylor said: "The three youngsters that came on the pitch will play this week. These young players are here because I trust them.
"They had an impact on the game and they changed the energy. If you want to play in this side you have to earn your right to play week-in and week-out.
"If some of the players are honest with themselves, they will probably know it's right that they are on the bench because they didn't perform."
An own goal following an awful goalkeeping error saw March take the lead in their United Counties Premier South clash on Saturday, but Rangers replied after 30 minutes through George Herbert to make it 1-1 at half-time.
Nathan Burrows made it 2-1 in the 58th minute but Cotton popped up in the third minute of added-on time to win a point for March with a perfect free kick over the visiting wall for his sixth of the campaign.
The Hares are now third in the table, five points off top spot.
"We had a bit of an honest chat in the dressing room after the game," admitted Taylor.
"That performance was not the level that I expected from my team.
"We did some good bits now and again but we never really had any rhythm or flow in the game.
"You want to put on a show at home and I feel the players have let themselves down today.
"We brought three youngsters on, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old and it takes them to show the hunger and endeavour needed to try to influence the game.
"We played slow and lethargic. We got a lucky goal and I thought it might give us some momentum, but it didn't. We then give them a sloppy goal to equalise.
"The second half was better, we huffed and puffed and showed more energy but not enough quality.
"They score after another mistake from us but Dotty scores with a great free-kick. I felt his frustrations out there today because if you give him the ball he will make things happen."
