March Town add to the management team with appointment of former Netherton, Holbeach and Yaxley coach
March Town boss Ash Taylor has added to his management team by bringing in Simon Roberts as his new assistant.
Roberts joins the Hares having worked at the likes of Netherton, Holbeach and Yaxley in recent seasons.
A club statement tonight read: "Further to our earlier announcement confirming Ash Taylor is staying, we would also like to welcome Simon Roberts to the football club.
"Robbo comes in to join Ash’s management team as assistant manager.
"He brings a wealth of experience in managing clubs at Step 4 and 5 and developing young talent. His former clubs include Netherton, Holbeach and Yaxley.
"Welcome to the Hares Robbo."
Roberts joined Holbeach United in the summer of 2022 to form a joint management team with Danny Clifton at the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North club.
Following his departure from the Tigers in February of the following year, Roberts returned to Yaxley to work alongside Lloyd Burton as a first-team coach.
Taylor had this to say on the appointment of Roberts: "Robbo is someone that I know from going up against his Yaxley side last season and the work he did at Yaxley whilst under testing circumstances was exceptional.
"As a management team, we are always looking to improve what we can do and what we can offer the players.
"After myself, Pep and Rainnie had a sit down with Robbo last night we agreed he would be a perfect fit for us.
"I know everyone at the club will make him feel very welcome and now that everything has settled we have an exciting journey ahead."
On Saturday, the team are back in league action when they travel to Lutterworth Town.
