Long Melford 6, March Town United 0

The Hares travelled to leaders Long Melford missing Denny Escorcio, Lewis McManus and Juliano Menezes but had new signing Ondre Odain on the bench.

To cap a bad day the Reserves lost 1-0 at home to Over Sports.

Next Saturday March entertain AFC Sudbury Res.

March: Beeny, Jackman, Fiddes, Evans, Goult, Mattless, Brand (Odain), Pepper, Woods (Conyard), Young, Flatters.

Cambs League

Lakenheath Casuals 4 Upwell 2

Upwell deservedly took an early lead through Gary Green at the leaders. Jack Watson almost doubled Upwell’s advantage, after he slotted past the keeper, but hit the upright.

A mad 10 minute spell saw Upwell give Lakenheath a 3-1 advantage. Shortly after half time, the hosts extended their lead before Gary Green scored his second of the game. Upwell hit the upright again.

Upwell Res battled well against top of the league Wisbech St Mary C, however ended up 5-0 losers.

Benwick Athletic Res 0, Coldham Utd 4

The League 5c game was even, except for Coldham’s stronger finishing.

Despite close efforts from John Rose and Mark Bishop, Coldham led 1-0 at half time. A quick goal after half time and a penalty killed off Benwick.

S Tech League

March Town Ladies 4, Cambridge Rangers 0

The Hares won their third consecutive league game with a comfortable win.

Emma Searle scored from close range after Jade Pointer won possession. PoM Dani Westgate then made an excellent penalty save before Emma Frost scored. Searle hit the post before scoring again before half-time. Searle completed her first senior hat trick on 85 minutes.

Manager Gary Davis said: “This was one of our best performances of the season.”
