March Town handed home draw in FA Vase Third Round against Essex Senior League side Takeley




March Town have been handed the home draw they were hoping for in the Third Round of this year’s FA Vase.

The Hares, who have previously never got so far in the national competition, will entertain Essex Senior League side Takeley in the last 64 on Saturday, December 7.

There are no replays at this stage, with draws going straight to penalties without any extra time.

Takeley are currently fourth in their league with nine wins, four draws and two defeats from their 15 games.

In the Vase they beat Romford 3-2 on Saturday, previously knocking out Woodbridge Town away on penalties after a 2-2 draw, Barking 3-0 away and Hutton 3-0.

Their top scorer so far is Jack Mitchell with seven goals from 11 starts.

March won 3-2 at Biggleswade United on Saturday and previously won 4-2 at Coggeshall Town, beat Mulbarton Wanderers 3-0 at home and Dussindale Rovers 5-2 at home.

Winning clubs in the third round will collect £1,125, while losing teams will also take home £350.
