March Town goes into home encounter against Eynesbury Rovers with plenty of momentum in the UCL Premier Division South
March Town go into tonight's home encounter with Eynesbury Rovers looking to extend their unbeaten sequence in the United Counties League.
The Hares made it six games without defeat and recorded a third successive win as they despatched Hinckley 3-1 at home in the United Counties Premier South at the weekend.
Manager Ashley Taylor was delighted with the performance, saying: "As for how we looked after the ball, how we created opportunities, how we arrived in the final third of the box and how we defended, that's a really good performance.
"It was a really good 3-1 win. It was the first time that we've played Hinckley so we didn't know much about them but they're a really good side with some good attacking players.
"They were good on transition, which caused us a few problems, and I think they will be in and around the play-off places this season.
"They brought a lot of fans, which I like to see, and it was a proper football match and a crazy first few minutes with both sets of supporters signing.
"We then got control of the game and Taity scored a great goal but then we got a bit sloppy and they got back into the game.
"There were a few scary moments that we had to deal with but credit to us as we defended well as a collective."
Ben Tait’s first goal for The Hares after nine minutes saw them lead 1-0 at the break and Matty Foy and Jack Withers wrapped up the win in the second half, either side of an 80th minute effort by Isa Abraham for the visitors.
"When they made it 2-1 they had a bit of momentum but we dealt with it superbly and scored five minutes later to make it 3-1.
"That's probably what pleased me the most."
