March Town’s big FA Vase game called off an hour before kick-off
FURTHER UPDATE: The FA Vase game between March Town and Daventry Town, due to kick-off as 3pm today, has been called off.
The referee inspected the pitch at 2pm, an hour before kick-off, and deemed the pitch unplayable.
The match will now be played next Saturday, January 18.
Some fans were already in the ground and the club says all tickets and golden goal tickets that have been bought will be valid for next Saturday
UPDATE: Saturday, 11.30am: March Town are confident thir FA Vase Fourth Round clash at home to Daventry Town this afternoon will still go ahead.
The games involving Parson Drove, Whittlesey Athletic and Wisbech Town have all been called off because of frozen pitches.
PREVIOUSLY: Despite the big freeze, March Town’s huge FA Vase Fourth Round game at home to Daventry Town is still set to go ahead tomorrow.
The Hares have been taking great care of the pitch this week and are hopeful the game will beat the elements.
However, in the United Counties League Premier North, Wisbech’s game at mid-table Skegness Town has been called off due to a frozen pitch.
In the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North, Parson Drove are due to travel to Gorleston Reserves and Whittlesey Athletic entertain leaders Haverhill Rovers, with a pitch inspection in the morning.
