March Town held to a draw by Bugbrooke St Michaels in UCL Premier Division South
Ash Taylor felt his players should have seen the game out after a last-minute goal denied his March Town players a return to winning ways on Saturday.
Matty Foy gave the Hares a 1-0 lead at the break but the visitors battled their way back into the game to level the scores in the dying seconds.
"It's another frustrating day really as I think it was the 94th minute when they scored," said Taylor.
"It is hard to take as you think you are going to see the game out; generally, we do see it out in those situations.
"Fair play to Bugbrooke, they were hungrier, wanted it more and came here with a lot of fight.
"I thought first half they were the better team and put us under a lot of pressure. In the second half, we were the better team, we had a lot more entries into their box but we didn't get the second goal and their hard work and endeavour got them the equaliser.
"I think it's a fair result today, it was a difficult game of football."
It is now 11 games since Taylor's side last kept a clean sheet in the league - their last one coming early in September following a 1-0 victory over Eynesbury Rovers.
The draw saw March drop down to fifth in the UCL Premier Division South table and they still hold a berth in the final play-off spot, although Northampton O.N.Chenecks are breathing down their necks in sixth.
"Six weeks ago we could play how we wanted to play but now the conditions and pitch make it a real battle and that's something we've got to be better at," admitted Taylor.
"We've got to be a team that can scrap, fight and compete for the second balls. Today we didn't do that well enough and that part of the game is something we need to improve on as a group.
"Historically, we've always struggled this time of year and there's no hiding from that after making such a good start to the season.
"We've drawn three and lost two of our last five games. After back-to-back defeats coming into today, we've now taken one point from a possible nine and that's not good enough, that's the reality of it.
"We've had a tough period but today I hoped that we would get back to winning ways to give us a good feeling going into a big game at the weekend.
"I hope the feeling of today will motivate us on Saturday to go and do what we need to do."
March goalkeeper Jonah Gill picked up the man-of-the-match award from the sponsors.
"They've had three shots on our goal the whole game," said Taylor.
"They put us under a lot of pressure with balls into our box but generally, we defended those well.
"They've got a hell of a throw, the best throw I've seen in ages, where every throw was like a corner and that put us under pressure.
"Jonah made a good save in the first half and to be fair the goal they scored was a good goal. It's just frustrating that we couldn't keep a clean sheet."
