Poor starts for March Reserves and Wisbech St Mary




March Town United Reserves are bottom of the Cambridgeshire County League Premier Division after two games, following a 5-2 home defeat against Cherry Hinton on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Ryan Lennon and Alfie Rogers were not enough for the Hares, who had previously lost 7-1 to Cambridge University Press.

Life back in the Cambs League hasn't been easy for Wisbech St Mary either, as they lost their second game in three, 3-2 at home to Huntingdon United.

AFC Emneth made it two Senior A wins from two on Wednesday evening when they won 2-1 at Soham Town Rangers, Jake Miller and Niall Burton getting the goals.

In Senior B, March Town A recorded their first win of the season, 4-2 at Lakenheath Reserves. Joshua Bryant opened the scoring against the run of play with a 35 yard screamer, and Alfie Richardson headed in a Bryant cross to make it 2-0.

Lakenheath pulled a goal back before the break but Stu Walker set up Dylan Venni to make it 3-1 and Venni returned the favour for Walker to make it four. Heath pulled back a late goal.

In the same division, Chatteris Town drew 3-3 at home to Swavesey Institute, Jack McLaughlin, Billy Munns and James Rose on target.

In the Dor-Jan Windows & Doors Peterborough League, Leverington Sports lost 3-0 at Holbeach United Reserves in midweek and Tydd were beaten 3-2 at Moulton Harrox, Bradley Easy and Christopher Yaxley netting.

Long Sutton Athletic got their first Division One win of the season on Wednesday, beating Holbeach United Sports 1-0, Lewis Machin getting the decisive goal. But on Saturday the Magpies went down 3-2 at Farcet United, Jordan Ainslie and Jack Thomas scoring.

Wisbech Town Reserves continued their unbeaten start to the season, thrashing Stilton United Reserves 7-0. Dan Hempson and Harley Murking both grabbed hat-tricks, with Daniel Short also on target.

Tydd Reserves lost 6-3 at home to Deeping United in Division Two on Saturday, and Leverington Sports Reserves were beaten 3-1 at home to Glinton & Northborough, Rust scoring but Bird getting sent off.

In Division Three, Sutton Bridge United were thumped 10-0 at Peterborough Rangers, where sub Ben English was red carded. It was even worse for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves, who lost 11-0 at home to Thorpe Wood Rangers.

Leverington Sports A lost a 12 goal thriller, 7-5 at home to Park Farm Pumas A in Division Four. Martin Wright (2), Shane Knight (2) and Craig Bradshaw scored for Sports.

Marshland Saints are top of the MG Building Maintenance North West Norfolk League Division One after two games, following a 3-0 win at Ingoldisthorpe, David Abbott, Sam Cubberley and Dylan Hopkins scoring.

Their reserves lost 3-2 at home to North Lynn in Division Two, Toby Killingsworth and Alan Jex scoring.
