March book final date against Newmarket Town or Ely City following semi-final victory over Histon

A second final awaits March Town following the club's 1-0 semi-final victory over Histon last night in the Cambs Invitation Cup.

A Jack Saunders goal 15 minutes from time was enough to see the Hares through to the last hurdle - three weeks after they booked their place in the final of the Hinchingbrooke Cup after a penalty success against St Neots.

The win came 10 days after March defeated the Stutes 3-0 in the United Counties League Premier Division South.

Ash Taylor's side, who had already knocked out defending holders Cambridge City in an earlier round, will meet the winners of the other semi-final between Newmarket Town and Ely City at the home of Cambridge City on Tuesday, April 29.

Next up for the Hares, who also remain firmly in the UCL South play-off picture, is a tough trip to third-placed Rugby Borough on Saturday.

March Town: Gill, Green, Brumby, Withers, Emmington, Foy, Burrows, Allen, Gillies (Williams), Escorcio (Cotton), Saunders. Subs not used: Henderson, Biggs, Nicholson-Barfoot.
