March Town win for a second time in three days

March Town completed a productive Bank Holiday weekend with a fantastic 3-1 victory at 2022 FA Vase winners Newport Pagnell Town this afternoon.

Striker Craig Gillies, who scored a hat-trick in Saturday’s 5-2 FA Vase home win over Dussindale Rovers, was on target twice as The Hares once again cemented their place as one of the early season promotion contenders in the United Counties Premier South.

March took the lead from an early own goal but Pagnell’s Nabil Shariff equalised after 12 minutes and that’s the way the score stayed at half time. Gillies then netted twice after the break, the second from the penalty spot, to make it seven goals in as many games this season for the talismanic striker.
