Wisbech win would have put them in mid-table

Wisbech Ladies 1sts 2 St. Neots 3

Wisbech Ladies went into the last game of the season knowing they were already safe in East Women's League Division 1N.

However, they knew a win against St. Neots would put them in mid-table.

Wisbech started the game slowly and were 2-0 down at half time with a poor first half performance.

The half-time interval saw a stern talking-to by the manager and Wisbech were a different side in the second half, with productive possession creating numerous chances.

Wisbech pulled one back with a top left hand corner goal struck from the top of the D by Laura Overland, which was shorty followed by another shot struck by Overland for Sam Pritchard to deflect in.

At 2-2, Wisbech looked the likely team to take the lead through tireless work by Ellie Padmore.

However, with two minutes to go, St Neots took advantage from a poor umpiring decision to net the winner.

PoM: Ellie Padmore.
