Wisbech bring back former defender after a two-year spell in the United States of America

Wisbech Town have completed the signing of defender Owen Howard.

Howard returns for a second spell with the Fenmen, having spent two years in the United States of America.

Manager Luke Hipwell said: “I am delighted to get this one over the line. Owen has been at the club before and understands our ethos.

"He’s a great player who will add even more talent to our side, along with competition in various positions. We look forward to welcoming him to the group.”

The Fenmen are due to report back for pre-season training this weekend.

Meanwhile, Jon Challinor and Michael Frew - two former Wisbech players - were in the England squad that retained their Seniors World Cup title in Thailand on Saturday.

Challinor was on target in a 2-2 draw with Australia in the final before the Three Lions triumphed 5-3 from the spot.
