Three Counties Running Club had over 40 runners at the Gear 10km event in King's Lynn




Three Counties Running Club sent over 40 participants to the Gear 10km event in King's Lynn at the weekend.

With the Covid-19 pandemic resulting in the event being curtailed last year, runners couldn't wait to be back.

40 TCRC members set off in the 10km event, with Gary Bligh first across the line in 40.25.

Daniel Banres was a couple of minutes behind with a time of 42.25, while Rickie Trundle was third for the club in 42.30.

Jennie Ambrose and Colin Apps had to walk the course due to unfortunate injuries, and therefore crossed the line after 1.35.22.

In the 2km Mini Gear race, TCRC had four representatives.

16-year-old Maisie Macdonald was the club's leading light, and earned a one-mile personal best time of 7.37.

Other runners taking part included Isaac and Molli Western and Callum Bates.

The club also took time to thank the cheer squad, who were "awesome as always".

Due to the vast crowd of runners at Kings's Lynn, the Wisbech Junior Parkrun had a smaller field of 11 over the weekend.

Clay and Keira Fines were first over the line for TCRC after 14.28.

Aaron Petts took part at the King's Lynn parkrun, while Steve and Sandra Rhodes were at Colney Lane.

Colin and Joely Apps were in Salcey, with Matthew Knott first in his age category at Hunstanton.

Melvin Green ran in March and Tracey Else travelled to Manor Field.
