Wisbech St Mary boss Paul Hunt gears up for Great Yarmouth trip after Debenham loss
Paul Hunt was left ruing a missed opportunity after his Wisbech St Mary side slipped to defeat against Debenham LC.
The Saints' opponents came to Beeching Close just two places above them in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North table, but left as 4-1 victors.
Tyler Key saved an early penalty, but two goals in four minutes put Debenham in control.
Michael Chow pulled a goal back for St Mary, but they conceded another on the stroke of half-time and once more in the second period as they fell to another loss.
Hunt believed that with a little more fire power in front of goal, the outcome could have been different.
"We were in the game. We didn't play great and I don't think they played great - I don't think it was a great game at all.
"There were probably an equal amount of chances on both sides, but they took theirs and we didn't. That was the difference.
"At 3-1 down, we really went for it and looked like we were going to score again in the second half. We went for it and pushed more men forward, and that left spaces at the back.
"It's disappointing considering the chances we had, but we didn't make the most of them.
"I felt we could have got something, but that happens."
The Saints now face a trip to Great Yarmouth Town this Saturday, and Hunt wants his players to bounce back.
"We can't let ourselves get down on our knees, as we're up and going at it again this week.
"They've brought in two strikers who've been scoring a lot of goals, so they'll be a different proposition to when we last played them.
"You look forward to the next game, because you always want to bounce back stronger.
"If we can put in performances like we have against some of the other teams recently, then we shouldn't fear anyone. We've just got to put the ball in the net."
The Saints remain bottom with a single point.
