Phillips through to Buttonhole Lake final

Roger Phillips booked his place in September’s two-day Buttonhole Lake final with an impressive display at the Marshland St James venue in the fourth qualifier.

Roger fished a weight of 140lbs 3oz from peg 4,with a fine display of angling.

Pushing Roger hard was John Buckenham on peg 23, weighing in 103 lbs 10oz.

Section winners were Pete Marson from peg 21 with 50lbs, Nathan Boughen, Wayne Bryan and Mark Turner with 35lbs on peg 18.

Tuesday saw John Bishop win the evening match with 94lbs 6oz from peg 20.

John is joint leader currently with Mark Grange, both on 20 points, closely followed by Roland Rudd on 18 points.
