March Indoor Bowls Club looking for new members and hints at inter-team competitions

March Indoor Bowls Club is looking for more teams to have a go at the sport - with the possibility of inter-club competitions.

This could include hockey clubs taking on tennis clubs in the area, with current members saying it would be “all a bit of fun”.

March Golf Club recently swapped clubs for bowls and enjoyed a fun night at the indoor club.

The golf club’s chairman Barry Cracknell, who was playing bowls for the first time, soon found his range.

Along with partner Nick Carter, he won the first challenge match of the night against Paul Corney and Steve Parrish.

The social bowls night was organised by bowls club secretary Michael Jackman, who hopes that other sports clubs and groups will come forward and take up the challenge of a free social night’s bowling.

The club says it has a great venue, especially during the cold winter months, with Friday nights available for groups and clubs to have a go at bowls - all equipment is supplied.

There are plenty of other times and days available to meet up in the warm and give it a go.

Anybody who is interested can contact Michael on 07368670406, and for more information visit the club’s website or Facebook page.
