March runners rule the Fenland 10




Members of all three local running clubs took part in The Rhodia Fen10, hosted by Fenland Running Club at Marshland High School in West Walton.

Some of March AC’s best runners took part with Andrew Jakeman winning the race in 54:23 and Kanina O’Neil making it a March AC double as she finished first lady in 1:04:18, just behind Niall Jackson in 1:04:12.

Geraldine Larham won her age category as she finished in a speedy time of 1:13:45.

The Fen10 was the final race in the Cambs AA Road League and March Ladies took home the team prize again, topping the league overall.

Kanina O’Neil ended top of the ladies leaderboard. The March men were third best club on the day.

It was an epic day of running for three Fenland runners too.

Steve Bennington was absolutely delighted to smash his PB by over five minutes (1:08:14), Rod Sinnott (1:11:53) ran amazingly following on from his Amsterdam Marathon and Catherine Swann (1:36:59) completed her first Fen10.

Three Counties had 12 members running the flat course, with everyone having fantastic runs.

First home for the club was Gary Bligh 1:07:31.

Other Three Counties results: Craig Freestone 1:09:11PB, Michelle Brown 1:14:50PB, Mark Mattless 1:14:50PB, Phil Newton 1:19:27, Matt Hunter 1:24:34, David Hogg 1:30:23PB, Stuart Brown 1:30:25, Tracey Else 1:34:33, Tamara Barnes 1:40:21PB, Anne-Marie Mattless 1:41:45PB and David Hammond 1:42:32.

Race director was Tom Richards, marshals organised by Stuart Follen, and March AC and Three Counties RC (Sarah and Lee Johnson, Lorraine Parker, Debbie and Imogen Agger, Zoe Gourley and Sarah-Jane Macdonald) helped with water stations.
